
JW Michaels Managing Partner Jason Wachtel recently spoke with Reuters about potential challenges faced by JPMorgan in its search for a new compliance chief:
Industry recruiters say top compliance officers at the biggest investment banks can earn $2 million to $3 million a year. Jason Wachtel, who runs the search firm JW Michaels & Co. in New York, told Compliance Complete that the effectiveness of the bank’s search will depend greatly on the type of individual they are looking for.
“If it’s someone from their competitors it might be a bit difficult,” Wachtel said, adding: “Why would they necessarily want that position because of the publicity?”
